is it a lot easier swappin in a b16 into a vtec car than a nonvtec car?
is it a hella bigger pain in swappin in a b16a into a nonvtec car like a LX 95 civic than just swappin in a b16a into a vtec EX 95 civic? i'm tryin to choose between the two cars. one's cheaper, but the other's got vtec. I was just wonderin if ther's a big difference in the things i'm gonna need for the swap between the two cars. any input's welcom. thanks.
Get the car that already has vtec, and you'll make life a lot easier when you get the B16a swap. The EX is already gonna have the vtec, knock sensor, and VTM wires running from the ecu, so you dont have to screw with them. If it was me i would definatly go with the pre-vtec equipped car.
I dont think that the EX is already wired for a knock sensor, cuz the sohc vtec doesnt have a knock sensor.
92-95 ex does not have knock sensor. Only the newer EX's. Either way its really easy. Just need to add a few wires. No biggy. Just buy the car in better condition. Or pick up a 92 cx or vx. They both are prewired with vtec. Plus they are cheap.
adding the wires for vtec may take an extra few minutes over not having it already prewired. do what gzr4door said and get the one in better condition or dont even bother with a four door and get a cx or vx.

thanks for all ur guys' input, i think i'm just gonna go for the nonvtec 93 or 94 lx. cuz it's been hella hard findin a charcoal colored ex that's a 5spd and a good price. they'r usually still in prety good condition.
