does anyone know if a bike rack will fit on an s2k???
I know what you guys are thinking, and yes this isnt a practical thing to do at all. But I was just wondering if it's possible to fit a roof rack on the hardtop of an s2k. or even a rear rack for the trunk. I'm an avid cyclist and also am looking for an s2k as a daily driver. I have an suv to haul but would just like to know if this is possible.
I will put my flame suit on for this, as I assume the position...
thanks

that was another thing i was thinking about, i knew that i would possibly have to address leaking issues. would the leaking be caused from the weight of the of bike itself, or the weight of the rack? The bike I ride weighs no more than 7lbs. the only thing i'd think of would be the mounting situation addressed.
the other possibility could be a rear mounted hitch rack, this type of system is removable. However I don't know if over time this will cause damage to the bumper or rear portion of the car.
thanks for the input.

I used to ride a Gary Fisher Hard Tail (MB), but then I "saw the light" and went to what I thought I'd never see my self on---a road bike. Right now, I'm riding my friend's bike, but I have another friend that works at a sporting goods store that will get me a great discount on a Lemond Tourmalet or the Alpe d'Huez. Not sure which one I'm going to get though.

back to the question at hand. would any of you guys put either a roof rack, or a rear hitch rack, on your s2k to haul your bike?

You're missing a 1 in front of the 7. 17lbs sounds more like what a dream weighs.
You can run a 1 1/4" hitch on the back and get a hitch mounted rack - very easy to carry bikes/skis on a st00k that way.

I saw a guy using a trunk mounted one. I pointed at him and laughed a little, but none the less, it was working just fine.
It might do you better to get a class a hitch put on. Then you can hold your bikes, or tow a little tires/tool trailer to races with you

ahhh you are right, the frame though weighs in at 7lbs.
also relating to the 1 1/4 hitch, will that do any damage to the trunk area?
thanks

It shouldn't. I'm not too familiar with the bike racks in particular, but from what I've seen it locks the bikes down pretty far from the trunk. So, unless you get rear-ended, it should be okay. Also a 17 lbs bike, and 25 lbs hitch/receiver won't hurt the frame. The s2k should be able to handle ~ 100lbs tongue weight.

the leaking would come from the clamping or mouting style/hardware. Not from the weight.
