Lowering + camber Kit = MAJOR RUBBING
OK....i have a skunk2 coilover kit and i just installed the SPrint Suspension rear camber kit on my 97 Civic Ex sedan.
the camber shouldnt have been very far off anyways because i only lowered it like an inch.... but all my tires are fawked...dont worry i have Yoko AES100 waiting to go on my Buddy Club 15" SF.
I am taking it this week to get aligned and have the camber adjusted properly. but i still think i am going to have a rubbing issue.. from the adusment the rear fender rubs about 1/2 an inch in on the tires... right now i have 205-50-15 not sure of the offset..... i am putting on 42mm offset buddy club sf 15x6.5 with 195-50-15
I am hoping that the offset and the slightly skinnier tire will correct this issue..
has anyone else had this problem? everyone? Please let me know what you did to correct this Very irritating situation.
Thanks
Dan

I will repeat this again... don't use 205's on 15"s. Those sidewalls are too fat/wide. Go with 195's to keep the sidewalls from reaching the quarter panel's/fender's rim of the wheel-well.
You should be fine with the 195's

I have 205/50/15's Falken Azenis on my EG with no rubbing issues and my car is practically tucking. I am putting some new tires on this week and raising it up some until I get a camber kit and my Buddy Club Dampers but other than that rubbing isn't really a problem with the 205's on mine.

you dont need a camber kit for a 1" drop. if you are going to keep the kit, i suggest you roll the fenders.
DONT need OR SHOULDNT NEED.
I can tell you i do need one because i have full tread on outside of my tires and inside is Cupped and warn down to threads!

I also have 205/50/15 tires and the tires aren't rubbing. The car is lowered on sport springs, but damn my tires are worn on the inside! I went to try to get an alighment and the technician said my car was too low for him to align it properly and that i would need a camber kit.
I hear that your toe does more damage than camber to the tires. My guestion is can i have my toe corrected without a camber kit? I'm really broke right now.

Find a new alignment guy. If they have a new hunter panel alignment machine they can do it. If its the old school beam setup, then yeah... he can't do it.
I run 205/50/15 tires with no problem, 0 wheel gap and 0 rubbing issues. Wheel offset and size are important factors here (15x7 and +43offset), also the stiffness of the springs...(stiffer means less suspension movement and softer means more movement) I also run -2.5 degrees of camber up front and -1.7 in the back. I get very very minimal tire wear after thousands of miles because I keep the toe at 0.
Camber doesn't kill tires so much as Toe does (unless you have like 3+ degrees of camber)
Just to reiterate, this guys problem is the springs being used. You rub because the soft springs allow for lots of suspension travel. Changing tire size isn't going to fix this especially in the spot you mention.
If you retain the lowering that you have, you'll need to bend/hammer that tab out of the way in the rear fender wells.

**** a camber kit. i will never buy another one. i have 15' rims with 195's. my car is dropped about 2 inches (i have coilovers so i never realy measured). i put a front camber kit on about a year ago and my tires got eaten up. i noticed one day that one of my tires was realy low and i felt the inside of the tire and was stuck by metal wires comeing out of my tire. i took the camber kit off and bought new front tires and haven't had any problems with tire wear since.
I had that issue with my hatch, I rolled the fenders...no more rubbing. It only rubbed if I took a corner too quick. I had 205/40/17's, but I think the offset was off or something...not sure. I had velox vx8r's.
