Anyone know what would cause my brakes to "Click?"
I've noticed my brakes make a distictive click sometimes when I'm pulling out of a driveway or most of all when I'm in reverse. This leads me to belive (it sounds like it too), that its something in the rear. Does anyone know what would cause this, or if it might be something in the suspension instead? Thanks for the help! ...Oh, and it's not clutch click, although it does that too sometimes

I seem to notice it more after the car has been sitting for a while, but it does it other times as well. It may do it everytime I hit the brakes for all I know b/c the engine and road noise may prevent me from hearing it. I have noticed that when I jack up the car in the rear, my driver's side spring makes a "creaking" noise when it goes up or back down. I plan on getting a new suspension setup anyway though. Thanks

Ok, so first you think it's your brakes and now you've resigned to just swap the suspension and see if that cures it?
The reason I asked what I asked and RJ added is that if the parking brake is pulled and sometimes too tight for an extended period of time you can hear a clunk and or even scraping and clicking sounds when driving the car again but the sound tends to go away after a bit of driving and when the pads scuff the rotors off again.
Other times I've experienced on another Teg the parking brake misadjusted and actually dragging one side.
I've also seen pads come apart from their backing plates and making crunching clicking sounds.
I've also heard stones or pebbles that have gotten stuck between the pad and rotor which is an annoying high pitched screech.
If you hear a clicking at lower speeds and when taking only tighter turns a CV joint can be going.
There a host of potential problems from minor to major but just swapping in a suspension and thinking the noise will "go away" is foolish imo.

One other possibility, with aftermarket pads (as well as the stock pads without the retaining clips, that jisu009's question was a reference to), is that there is a slight size difference that creates a gap between brake pad and the caliper. So, the first time you apply the brakes in either direction, the pad shifts slightly inside the caliper, creating the clicking sound. If that's it, it's nothing to worry about...
