Here is a way to find out which header is the best [werx & lux]

I say we have A header build off. Open to anyone .Maybe have a $100.00 fee
so we know your serious. Give half to the dyno people and you get the other
half back after the tests .This will stop whoever has the most people online
from confusing the readers. I think this would be a very fair way for people
to find out the truth....So how about it? any suggestion?

wouldnt there be varying results due to different applications of cars that would be using the header... so there isn't really a "best"
besides.. this is similar to the great header test

Yep - But the other problems would be
Location ------ state
Dyno --------- engine, chassis
Dyno Location --- elevation
Car ------- what type of motor are we going to use
And would one header really make more power ( not a few hp difference ) on the exact same set up ??? I dont build headers so that was a question. What I mean is lets take a stock 99si ?
AC - PS - STOCK MOTOR - CAT - FULL EXHAUST - NO AFTERMAKET FUEL CONTROL
THis set up is always 135-140 hp 105-110 tq what would one of your headers do for the car "bolt-on"
P.S. We have a small test going on now and would love to use your in the test as well heres the set up
91 crx w/18a and 99si head all stock engine parts except no cat, and hast fuel regulator and vafc --
stock pass with ls exhaust manifold = 155-hp and 125-tq
an-r stamp collector header stock pass = 160-hp and 123-tq
tuned to match header AN-R = 166-168-p and 127-tq
and we are doing the merge style collector on tuesday. We would be willing to put any header on this car and post the differences. this is also a story that HCI magazine is going to be using in there book as well.

easy easy, settle down, not so manyall at once .I thought maybe get a magazine
[unbiased] to do an artical about it .Then come up with an engine that everybody
agree,s on. Like a stock B16 or mild built one and so on.Then agree on a location
to dyno .Get some unbias witness,s .We just need to talk it over. This could be
good for few shops. Quick mess. me your number and I will call you. I would give
you mine but I cant Q.M. I think that,s why they have em. [phones}

If this thread were to get off the ground maybe this thread would help.

First off no reason to "settle down" no one's hyped up. As for an "unbiased" magazine I not really sure what you mean, if you have a magazine that you think you can get step up, i mentioned HCI because I had already talked to them about it. I have also talked to MAX IT OUT video as well. As for the motor set up I figured a stock car would be the best so no one could complain about the motor build up, and since 90% of the headers build are on street set up cars we should test them on that type of car, and threw a full exhaust as well. And the dyno location --- well that could be hard since your about 7 hrs from us.
No reason to talk on phone lets keep it in writting, and in the publics eye so there is no "misunderstanding." You and I have had alot of those in the past.

Lets keep it gangtsa and do it on an engine dyno it remvoes alot of the varibles.
I think we would be willing to build a header for this contest
Edited for my horriblle typing skills lol

This is the best way to find out the "best" header. But we need ashop that is willing to set up the engine dyno for us and do all the swaping of headers. If there is one then that would be perfect. And we would need a motor to use.

Perfect then lets set it up --- what would you need to get this rollin--- RMF put it on the table. Count us in, we just need to know the engine that will be used.

guys any more? I think there is someone missing , come on John hop in.
If enough people do this I,m sure almost any mag. would do this deal. HeyRage
do you have a motor lined up?Get back to me. Isnt there some girls doing
an engine build off too? Maybe that mag would cover it Some feedback please
Man gets on elevator says to lady. Can I smell your *****? Lady replys
I think not!! Man replys must be your feet then......oh oh oh

I'm sure Danny Tran, username: DTR Fab, would be interested in this. I believe there is an AN-R rep on H-T too.

JUST MY 2 cents but are we talking a strictly BOLT ON TEST or tuning as well because everybody knows that if a header creates a superior scavaging effect due to colector designs then one header will run way leaner than the next and so on. you can change a header on the dyno and see good gains but the AFR may be super unsafe. RAGES idea of a 99 SI civic is perfect! very popular car, and i dont think an engine dyno is a must as long as we only use one car and one dyno.

oh ya ill probably get alot of flack for this but since i do not build headers and minimal fabrication( except for my offroad truck
) i am a non biased party in this.... i really wouldnt care who wins just to be able to finally shed some light on real HP headers. we can use my dyno with everyone in the contest present NO DRAMA just truth.

This will never get off the ground ----
No one will agree on the car/motor/dyno what ever. We all know that so lets just move on. I know that all the headers in question have there good and bad points. We just tested the "merge" style on the same crx that I had posted info on before. The air temp was the same as the other days the car was the same as the other days bla bla bla. The "merge" did make more power simply bolting it on, BUT lost mid-range. Which it should do to the tuning....right. Well after a few passes we gained the power back in the 4-6000 rpm range. The test is a simple test, but this HP gain is small do to the motor size and parts in it. RMF is in Arizona, we are in So Cal, and some of the other people mentioned are at least a few hours away....................do you really think this would happen ??? What ever happens happens, we have already started a article about our stuff and think other header people should do their's as well then maybe the magazines will want to do it on there own and take cars of the whole thing ----
Untill then --- we sale retail and wholesale headers and make them for a few people on this site and hope you all like them.

Jeeezzus you guys. A good or correct header will make more power on a stock B16 or a badass 2352 [87x99].If they are running the same head it will work better
on both motors. It dosnt matter how big or small the moter is .Its the size of the
port which is relitive to the valve dia. The length is the RPM that you want the
most of your power at.Collectors, megaphones, tri Ys, boom cans and crossovers
are application. And thats what the header guy is supposed to know So what do I
have to do, say that no other header on the planet makes more power than RMF
period. Prove me wrong. Next

Wow you are gay (and so are your headers)
Blind statements like that make me never want to consider anything that you build/sell.

Prove you wrong ????? You are the fly by night guy not us, you have to prove yourself RIGHT!
That's the point "RMF" --------- no one has said your stuff doesn't work. You are the publisher of this post and we are all anwsering to your request. Per our talk today on the phone I had said that if you asked Chris what you owed him he would anwser, and he will just ask. I never said your stuff was bad, just the type of business you do is different from me. I also anwsered you about how you wanted to make me and him mad ---- " what do I have to do to get us worked up ?" thats what you had asked me. Well you know me when I get worked up, it's hard to bring me down. Let's just walk away, we all know like I had said in a post above it will never happen.

why would you waste your precious header building time to try and make us mad??? wow i guess its nice to know that after all this time people still think about you(me) .. i am so over this bullshit but i would like to see a header competition.
