Default Problem!!!! RPM question

98 GSR. Having problems with RPM. Will be unstable and will go from 1000 to 3000 when I am on idle. Acceraleration is very bad. I tried resetting ECU and and it helped but continued to do same as soon as I drive it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Cannot figure this out. It might be a simple vacuum leak too but cannot find it either.

yeah you got ripped... i left of this intake mani plug thing when i was doing something, but i left it off and it would rev up to about 2800, then down to 1k then back up esc. then i opened the hood and saw... put it back on and it was all good

I pulled sensor off and reconnected it and it works fine but once I drive it, it goes back to reving up and down. Sorry about you getting ripped off. It happens when you are frustrated and the only place you can turn to -- is a local shop. I knew guys on this forum can help me out. So if I change the sensor it should be ok then -- I think it might have gone bad. Thanks for the replies. If this doesn't work I will see what others have encountered. Can't give up that easy. Am determined to figure this out even if I have to take my whole motor apart to see what it might be. lol
