V-tec Wont Hit in GSR Hatchy !
Hey I have a 93 dx hatch with a 98 gsr in it . It was sold to me with the engine and a stock p-28 chip . The vtec didnt hit when i got the car so when i bought it i changed the ecu to a chipped p-28. The car still didnt have vtec and so we changed all the wiring and made sure that everything was connected. ( vtec , knock sensors , etc ) Still no vtec . CHanged the oil still nothin . I had a check engine light that came out being an ( 8 ) so i check the code and it says its a (over the top pulley sensor). right next to the alternator . I checked the sensor and the wires seemed to rub against the belt and wore into the wires . My question is if this sensor can eliminate vtec if it is broken or burnt out ? WHat should I do > ?

TDC sensor (crankshaft position sensor)? That would probably cause your VTEC to not engage.
You should fix it.
You should probably also get a P72 ECU instead of the P28.
