Default cam vs valves

ok now that i have my bottom end ready to go to the builder, i want to start thinking about top end mods
im gonna do twm ITB's and a nice port and polish job and shave the head like .015
i was thinking about going with 1mm oversize skunk 2 high compression valves with crower stage 3 cams

but i relized that with the over sized valves and high lift cam that i will most likly have big valve to valve clearence probs
so dose any one have any ideas for a valve and cam set up for an h22
i thought maybe sticking with the stage 3 cam and doing standard size HC valves or going with over size and like a stage 1 cam, i wanted to put into mind that im only gonna rev to like 8000-8200 rpm

any idea's and dose any one have some pretty trick head set ups on there h22 that i could see

thanx josh

Why not crower? I know a bunch of fellas who run them and have not had problems.

I'm running Skunk2 stage 3 cams, springs, retainers, on my H22. But I didn't beef up the valves either. I had an approximate 17whp increase from the cams alone though..

What is the rest of your setup? I can't imagine getting that much with stock CR.

well im gonna deck the block like .005 or so shave the head .015 or so and i have type s pistons
whats wrong with crower cams
if there bad than what is a decent h22 cam there are 50 thousand threads about h22 cams and crower dosent seem that bad

no one with beefed up haves around here, i wanted to do the over size to get more flow

now before any one can accuratly give you advice you may want to post your whole set up .. as far as 1 mm oversize valves go ive seen them hurt flow on many cars .5 is probably your best bet if anything but depending on stroke its hard to tell but seeing that your running type s pistons i would probably suggest the .5mm valves .. now if you do want compression than this is the rare occasion that i suggest the high comp valves and thats only because you are not plannig on getting into realy high rpm and also because i hope your not planning on welding the quench pads because the type s pistons tend to tap when you do but if you post your set up in detail i will be more than happy to give you a more accurate advice and if you really dont want to post in public for any particular reason then feel free to hit me up...

ok i have a h22a1 motor
stock bore just honed to clean up
stock crank, knife edged,balanced,polished
stock rods bored for type s pistons
type s pistons
the head will be ported and polished
im just in the beging of the build and the botom end is at the machine shop
im just trying to get a game plan for the head
i want to use a pretty radical cam and make some good power and i want to get the best flow i can and i want to up the compression a little more, the reason i want to do compression with the head is beacuse i dont want to sleave the motor for forged pistons- not that it would matter now cause i already have the bottom end in motion, so i need to know is a over sized valve would work with a radical cam with out valve to valve interfearence, im gonna have the block decked to clean it up so im gonna gess and say a .005" cut and then shave the head for some compression like .015" i would go more but i dont want to risk the chance of valve to piston interfearence, then i would have to take the whole bottm end apart to get the valve pockets machined more, will i be able to run the .5mm valves on the pistons in stock form(meaning will they fit the oem valve pockets or will the need to be opened up for the bigger dia valve?"
