crazy engine swap idea...:-)
hey guys im new to this forum...after doin a little research i was recommended here. I have an 97 integra GS (auto) and i was wondering if it would be possible to swap my enigne out for an 02'-05' RSX S-type enigne? I know it will take some time (worry about suspension, exhaust, fuel lines, custom mounting, cuttign and welding ect. ) would it be possible? any advice on swapping would be great. thanks guys

Get in touch with http://www.hasport.com they make the mount kits and can provide you will all the parts needed to put a K20 motor into your DC4.
yea..you also gotta worry about trying to mount a b series automatic...to a k series engine that is designed to run with a manual transmission...plus I'm not positive, but i'm pretty damn sure that there is no ECU that can control the rsk-s engine and manage an auto tranny as well

that's not possible to mount the k-engine to a b-tranny. They spin different directions, and they probably have very different bolt patterns.

Umm, this isn't like putting a Ferrari motor into a Honda. In that case, your statement would be correct.
It's very commonplace to swap in K series motors nowadays. There are mounts available for it now. It's only slightly more expensive than a regular higher end B-series swap.

meh, there have been crazier.
a shop here swapped an SR20DET into an FD3S.
they did a good job, had a v-mount intercooler/radiator set-up and everything.

thanks for all the info guys...a buddy of mine told me about a rsx in a junkyard that was really f'ed up (back end almost missing, roof caved in, looks like roll over) but the front end was perfect...it's a manual newer model (02-05) RSX..so in theory i can get the engine, manual trans, and ecu..with all these goodies would it make my life easier? fyi i didn't post readin rainbow man pic lol
from what i hear, it's always easier to get a front clip (intact wiring harness, mounts, accessories, etc.), so if you can afford it, go for it and let us know how it goes.
you guys are retarded.
levar burton->reading rainbow-> reading is your friend
putting a K-series engine into a DC/EG chassis has already been done, in fact hasport sells mount kits for that.
you won't be able to use the auto unless it's the auto from an RSX

im curious if u did do the swap for an auto in an RSX type S does vtec work cuse i hav never heard of vtec in an automatic car mayb it is a stupid question...i would think becuse vtec needs a high rpm to kick in it wouldnt render vtec useless

if ur gonna do a engine swap do it right so u might as well go manual. if u want an automatic, get a rsx non type s engine and leave it at that. u MIGHT be able to swap an auto rsx tranny onto a rsx s motor, but you might need to run a rsx non s ECU with a VAFCII to control your motor's behavior
ok...found mounts ect. even found couple ppl on the forum that have done this before ....yay! now, when i am to get the engine and trans..i'll have a grand total of 2 engines and 2 trans..any advice were to sell the uneeded engine? ebay? junkyard? just seeing what others have done and the best way to go....
