Leakage around head gasket and bottom of water pump!!
Just like the topic say,"Leakage around head gasket and bottom of water pump!!".
I have a 94 gsr that I rebuild from the bottom to the top. I replace everything except the water pump gasket. I just figure that I can get away with it by using the original gasket. For the head gasket it is brand new oem.
Had everything put together in my crx, hook-up the radiator to the engine, added water inside the radiator, filled it to the max, then heard drips from the water pump from the bottom and then around the head gasket it started to leak (forming water drops) from the IM around to the EM (exhaut manifold). I dont know if I put the head gasket upside down or opposite of it.
I already order a new water pump gasket and for the head gasket I dont know if I can still use it or not. Also I dont remember if i torque it or hand tighten it? Also I dont know if the tag is suppose to be on the timing belt side or dizzy side.
Another thing I havent started the motor yet and I'll have pictures up soon.
Thank-Phil-

one thing, you can't reuse the head gasket, it's already compressed. it won't work. and another thing, you need to put the head gasket with the tag on the tranny side not the timming belt side. also you have to torque the head bolts down, (not hand tight) or it will leak, go buy a book, it helps

Ok one question, for the tag on the head gasket is it possible to have it upside down on the trans? Like are the number suppose to be facing up or down and the location of the tag is suppose to be under the front radiator hose? And one more question are you suppose to use a sealent for the head gasket?

yes it is possible, but if you match the water ports on the block to head gasket, and don't put any sealant at all, the best bet is to buy a book, it will tell you the torque spec's, and the right way to do it. and all your questions will be answered
that is buy far the best reply to this post, i have just finished my lsvtec build, used the book for a integra/delsol/civic/crx and i had all the trq specs there if i had any kinda question all i had to do was look in there, no leaks
for me.
you should just get a good book for this, it will tell you how to install your head studs the trq sequnce, specs, will even show you pics to help you along the way....
