oil temperature reading really high...?
y0....i was out driving today and my **WATER**temp meter on my cluster was maxed out in HOT, it would slowly go down and level out if i stayed below 3k rpm in 5th gear but any higher it would slowly rise.....i pulled over to check some temps and my ex. manifold ran about 300-400 degrees valve cover about 150....it seems really high to me but could be normal.
can someone tell me base line engine/oil temps....and what would be the best way to read them....i have a raytek temp gun so i feel its reallly damn accurate.
also anyone have any suggestions as too whats going on?? could my meter be busted?? its about 90 sumthin degrees out here so that could be a small factor....but any info would help..thanks!
EDIT: correction...its water temp....i am running the stock DX radiator is it possible that its not sufficient for my zc?...could i have a bad water pump??

No your stock radiator is more then sufficent, I think its either your fluid is low, did you burp / bleed the system? Or you could have a blown head gasket

...i drained the existing lines but didnt flush it out...fluid is topped off....i really hope its not a blown head gasket...that woudl kill me....anyway to know for sure?

my turbo b18c usually sees water temps of 210-220 water temp but I have a high temp thermostat in there, my oil temps are only slightly higher mabe arround 230 max. might not help you much but hopefully good for a slight comparison.
