Default 1st to 2nd grinds

when i shift from 1st to 2nd it grinds and its not all the time, u cant really hear it either u can only feel it. Am i shifting to hard or is it my syncros?

if it happens over a certain rev(usually about 4000rpm), then its most likely your synchros.
try gm synchromesh.. it should help a lot

I would be very carefull my friend I was in the same boat a month ago and now I need a new trans because I have a hole in mine the size of a baseball. It might not be the same feeling I had but sounds the same just be carefull

sounds like yer synchros are going out. Happened to me in my old tranny. My clutch went out and i had to drive in in Los Angeles traffic for 3 miles on no clutch. Needless to say, i blew the second gear synchro. It'll only get worse unless you put some sort of anti shock tranny fluid in it. GM Synchro Mesh is good, but be sure it's the anti shock stuff. The only other thing you could do is buy a second gear synchro set and take it to a transmission place. They'd probably install it for ya but it'd cost you.
