When i go over about 45-50 in that area and touch my brakes my car and steering wheel shake very badly. We looked at them, and the pads are fine, any suggestions?

My guess would be rotors though...

Since he just bought the car, it's probably just some rust buildup from sitting on the lot. I'd take it somewhere that can turn the rotors on the car. (be alot cheaper than replacing them)

BTW sounds like warped rotors to me. I would just replace them because they aren't that expensive.

 

Could be either warped rotors OR uneven pad wear.

 

definetly rotors had that problem several times.

 

99% likely the rotors arent warped, its brake pad material thats on the surface of the rotor causing an uneven surface but the rotor itself is still good, look up how to clean it and get the material off to even it out

 

mine did it to, but not violently...didn't know what it was...

then I bought some brembo blanks and installed them for the hell of it when I replaced my axles...

no more shaking after that

 

its a scam called phishing. Pretty stupid people anyway. its always a ungodly amout of money.
I also have a 94 honda and it shakes pretty violently. It was sitting for a while. Im almost scared to have anybody do work on it. bleh

 

Have the rotors resurfaced or replaced. It's a problem I have had on all my Hondas. The only permanent cure that I found is replacing the rotors with a better quality rotor, meaning nothing from Auto Zone or the like.

Yup yup, rotors are warp. If they're too thin, then don't even bother with getting them resurface because they may be out of spec with their maximum thickness. I say just get a good set of rotors but the 90-97 Accords have trapped rotors which isn't easy to do. GL.
