Default help me appraise the whip!

blah blah, i'll spare you the sob story of why i might sell the R please help me get a sense of what the going rate is for my R.

2001 black R with 68k miles
car is in excellent mechanical shape and good cosmetic shape

the bad:
- it had a autopower rollbar which is now removed and the holes have been sealed and carpet 'repaired' - all cut carpet is hidden
- front bumper has obvious rub marks (not gouges) where 2 people backed into the bumper - quoted $500 for bumper repaint
- some suv ******* back into my car and dented the left side of the little metal strip underneath the taillight and above the bumper - quoted $700 for replacement and paint
- in 2001, a woman ran a red light and hit my car. the 2 quarterpanels, bumper, and hood was replaced. car was put on rack and no frame damage.
- 3-4 minor door dings

the good:
- has brand new head and valvetrain (cams, seals, valve springs, valves, etc) - less than 500 miles. block looks great!
- at the same time, the spark plugs, timing belt, and water pump were replaced
- maintanence done religiously ahead of schedule. i looked at the acura 'severe driving' schedule and did everything 10-15k miles ahead of schedule
- front wheel bearings replaced about 7k miles ago
- new oem clutch, pressure plate, and bearings about 10k miles ago
- comes with toda flywheel
- new rota 15x6.5 slipstreams with 195/55/15 potenza re010 - less than 4000 miles on wheels/tires
- k&n filter

other stuff:
- i've removed the power steering (best mod ever!)
- rear seats and interior plastic have been out of car for over 2 years so in great shape

If your NOT selling it on here start with 20,500 and see where that takes you.

If your going to sell on here, your just going to get lowballed.

Aaron, good luck with the sale and if there is anything I can do let me know.

I think you should definitely get any scrapes and dings fixed or a repained bumper as well as a full interior and exterior detailing.

After that,

I agree $20,000 to start.

Best of luck Dubba A

as for the repaint on your bumper, I have a local place that would spray for 350-400, and a good job too.

Buff that car, shampoo the hell out of it and get the paintless ding repair people and it should look really good- Might even look to good to sell

oh yes, i'll clean it and spend some quality time with the claybar and wax. i don't know if painting the bumper makes sense, it will probably cost $400-500 which i could at best make back upon the sale. after all, i just spent almost $2000 for the new head & valvetrain and i don't think it will really affect the sale price greatly.

what is a reasonable, non-ht price to expect? $18k? $17k? $16k?

I would say 15-16k due to previous damage and all the flaws.

ditto what he said. too many damages and too many repairs and not exactly low mileage. sorry, just being honest.

hmmm, you haven't seen my car, it really is not in bad cosmetic shape. perhaps my description made it sound ugly, but if you saw it in a parking lot you wouldn't even notice the bumper damage. i plan to get a claybar and wax this weekend and show some pictures. i don't expect to sell it on h-t cause the lowballing and i sure as hell won't sell it for less than $16k. the only reason i'd sell is because i don't want to take it to hpde and, to me, that seems the reason to own an R.

Yeah, I think when it's cleaned up it'll be worth $18,000 for certain. $16,000 is low for your car Aaron.

As long as your motor is in great running condition again I don't see any reason to hold anything against it with a lowball price. But again I could be biased since I know you and have seen your car up close and whatnot.

And I also understand with the track thing. It's a car that just begs to be tracked all the time regardless of if you're on a public road. And precisely what I really only do with mine anymore.

But, what would you track then?
