What is LS/VTEC? noob here
I'm new to this forum and i searched around but i still don't get it after reading them. When ppl ay LS/VTEC, does that mean they convert the engine in LS to vtec? and how much that conversion usually cost? and Would it be the same as GSR (170bhp) ?
yea its when you put a GSR head on the LS block. But since the redline for the block is 6.9 and the head is 8.0 you cant rev it all the way.
The plus is that there is more torque but i ono about doing such a conversion

I know what ls/vtec is but im no expert on it, but i'll tell you this, its not as simple as just bolting on a b18c1/c5 or b16 head on an ls block. If you don't even know what ls/vtec is then I HIGHLY recomend you use the search feature here on ht as well as other honda related forums, and research, research, research, you can never research enough.
BTW, you do know what a "head" is and what the "block" is right? and possibly what they do?

It is as simple as bolting a vtec head on the ls block. They got kits for it so no drilling is required . and if you want to rev up to vtec limits just change your rod and head bolts to arp units, and change your oil and water pump to b18c ones. Get a fuel pressure riser (regulator) vtec ecu. Then ride away with 35cc and way more torque than any other b18(unstroked or bored).
B16b or type r heads are the heads to have. and the average is about $1400 with evrything i mentioned above. That is if you get a 100%complete head for cheap 5-6 hundo
