the B20 would easily swap into the integra. H22 would require more work.

i would do a B20/vtec

Well of course the b20 will fit in easier but thats not really what you should be concerned about.Thing about how much there is in aftermarket parts for b-series engines. Then think about how much there is for the h-series.If you dont know then search and youll see why i voted b20vtec.Even if the b20 was harder to install it wouldnt effect my decision.

IMO

B20/VTEC
Pros:
-B20 VTEC will bolt right in, so you don't require aftermarket mounts.
-Once the motor is running right ? Great all motor potential with added torque of a 2.0 litre.

Cons:
-Unless you really know what your doing or don't have a lot of money/time? I wouldn't ..... putting a VTEC head on a non VTEC block and having it run properly can be trying on the patience, long and expensive. A lot of different variables can cause a slew of problems.

H22
Pros:
-Much better power and torque right off the bat.
-It's already VTEC

Cons:
-Kiss your A/C goodbye
-Need aftermarket mounts and a few other parts (axles, mid shaft, exhaust, shifter assembly) This does really add up.
-Need a good mechanic to install it, it's a tight fit and wiring is a bitch.
-Power Steering can be saved depending on the mounts you use

All up to you man, I did an H22A into my 98 Teg, I love it but it was a lot of work and when all was said and done? it wasn't cheap ....

Si

The H22 isn't an easy swap, and there are tons of drawbacks. The b20 is a good motor, and I have seen some pretty wicked CRVtec setups.

Agreed, if I had to do it over again or had more time and $$, I would have done K24 Block with K20A2 Head. This is the future .....

By tons of drawbacks, I mean all of the things that you mentioned in your "cons" section, as well as the added weight to the front of our alread front-heavy cars. Also, I have heard that some H22 owners don't like being tied down to that particular tranny. If you go B-series, there are several options. For me, the cost would be a big issue, but on the other hand, a well-built CRVtec won't be cheap either. There are alot of things to consider.

K 2.4 That right there will own all.

but between the 22 and 20 I'd choose the b20. H22's are very particular...

I would go with a flat out built up B20 or bored B18 without a vtec head. I wouldn't have the patience to deal with head issues if they arise. I would shy away from the H22 because you start limiting yourself with parts, mostly transmission choices.

If you know what your doing, in terms of building motors, then definetly go with the B20VTEC. If done right, the B20VTEC motors are an unbelieveably powerful setup. Thats IF you know what your doing. B20 is going to be alot easier to install, its an identical block (other than internals), to the B18's.

wow thats a really smart statement.

Must be talking from the years of experiance that you have with frankenstein motors.

thx guys was kind of going the b20vtec way but heard alot of bad things about weak cylinder walls and putting a vtec combo together the compression is going to raise. Is it ok without having to sleeve the block? The h22 was looking a little expensive but the times after the work have looked awesome. The advice is really appreciated thx again!
