Default Electrical problems. help!

I have a 1994 integra with automatic transmission(130K miles). A few months back I was driving on the freeway and all of a sudden I tried to step on the acellerator and there was on response. I downshifted to D3 and the engine seemed to "wake up" and I was able to drive. A few days later the same thing happened...car accellerator stopped working while driving. I was able to notice other symptoms when the car dies...the clock on the dash turns off, my left/right signal lights don't work, power windows don't work. The radio, AC, hazard lights, and brakes still work though. Usually the car will die and I will pull it over and try to start it up...it won't start initially but will start after a few minutes. The car doesn't have a particular pattern when it dies...sometimes it goes a few 100 miles without dying..then it will die all of a sudden. I had the computer checked out and they didn't find any codes reported..they recommended a transmission fuel flush..my friend thought it was a distributor issue but I changed it out and still have issues. I'm not sure where else it could be.

dude, if the indicator lights on your dash go out at the same time your accel. boggs then most likely its the electrical portion of the ignition switch. look at the back of the switch, if you see any solder joints that are "melted" the this is a possible problem.

Well, I would try putting an ignition tester on the plugs when it happens. See if you are getting spark or not. It might be a loose ground or a connector the way it is intermitent. I had a similar problem, but I solved it by cleaning the contacts on the distributor and greasing the contacts in to it. Good luck.

Thanks for everyones help! I checked out the ignition switch and one of the solder joints looked cracked. I replaced the switch and the car has been running good for the last 500+ miles. Hopefully it will be running for a long time to come. Thanks again to all for your input!
