Default Can brand new OEM parts go bad?

I just had an oem water pump professionally installed less than 3000 miles ago and I think it is leaking again. Is it possible that this water pump was bad?

thats IMPOSSIBLE...lol j/k man. I have never seen one go bad with such low mileage. Most likely it's the coolant pipe o-ring where it meets the water pump or the gasket where the water pump meets the block. Just because you had a 'professional' install it doesn't mean it was done right. They make mistakes too.

So what would you suggest I do to fix this problem? Just replace that o-ring? Anyone have a helms or honda parts diagram of this?

#12?

I think both sides are leaking... but how can I tell if the other side is leaking too? Where would the coolant be?

I just replaced both main radiator hoses and radiator 2 weeks ago. This is giving me a huge headache.

Why not take it back to the professional and tell them that it prematurly failed? Take your invoice.

I want to diagnose the problem first to see what parts I can buy ahead of time and get it all fixed at once.

You shouldn't have to do that though. If you paid somebody to do it, just take it back and tell them to fix it.

Ahh the plot thickens.... If you replaced the hoses it is likely that you leaked alot of coolant into the engine bay and it is slowly leaking from various crevices, splash guards, etc. Rinse down the engine and check if you still see leaks. If so, you may not have put the hoses on properly, they might be the wrong size, etc. Don't blame the guy who worked on your car 4 months ago (guessing by mileage) if you just worked in the same area 2 weeks ago.

It is not from the previous hoses and radiator though. That has been a long time and most of it should have been gone by now. I have to fill up the radiator every morning because I leave puddles wherever I go.
