Default Lots of smoke coming from the crankcase vent? Help my friend!!!

Okay, 2 nights ago my buddy was driving his 99 prelude which was turbo'd with the greddy kit the week before. to make a long story short his oil return line got pinched some how and oil was dumbing into the intake. He didn't realise it until he was running his car hard and it shut off, The dip stick showed nothing, he had to add 4 qts of oil and it started right up. he then shut off the engine and had it towed home, today I fixed the oil return line, when we started the engine large amounts of greyish white smoke was pooring out of his crank case. his car did start up fine and ran fine. What are your opinions on how much damage he did to his engine?
Is he totally screwed???? I feel bad for the kid.... any suggestions would help

I hear that often when excessive smoke is coming out of the cranck case vent it means broken rings/ring land
