Default what ECU should I use?

I'm wanting to run a Hondata on my 94 lude and couldn't find an answer to my question. i just have basic bolt-ons and need to reuse my knock sensor. I wanted to know if it's possible to use the knock sensor with a P28 and Hondata, or do i need to buy a P72?? On Hondata's website they say you can also use the P30 or P61 with the knock sensor, but not the P28.. so out of all these options what would be the best for tuning my car w/ Hondata? thanks

Whoops, for some reason I thought you were non-vtec. Go with the p72, the p28 does not use the knock sensor

thats why i would like to avoid getting one.

i found the main tuning thread by Firedrake about the P72 being useless for the H22a.. so basically he's saying on all applications with "x" amount of modifcations it would be ok to use the P28 w/Hondata, but if i use one then my knock sensor will be useless.. aren't there any downsides to this?? engine harm? crappy low-midrange power? the thread states: the knock sensor control on the P72 is mostly useless.. i don't understand that part. anyone?
