what is the difference between a h22a tranny vs the f22
anyone know what the difference is between the tranny that comes with the H22a on an JDM Accord SIR vs the stock f22 tranny? how can you tell them apart? are they any code or signs? what is the difference in gear rations?
Thanks
Thanks
Yeah i've checked but both the f22 and the h22a says MPOA. but i understand it is different. Gear ratios, number of clutch plates ect.
here, you can look up the gear ratios yourself with this link:

to interpret what those numbers mean, the h22a tranny was made to go with the h22a motor...the f22 tranny was made to go with the f22 motor...honda never mated the f22 tranny to an h22 motor for a reason...the gearing becomes rediculously long, and the power band is really stretched out over a longer period of time...you will also fall out of vtec when shifting (unless an aftermarket controller of the vtec engagement point is used to change the crossover)....

I've been there before. Only thing is they don't have the spec on a h22a automatic. all they have is an auto on a f22 and manual on the h22?
