i have a d16y8 with the k4f tranny(5spd, if you dont know) i was on my way to work this morning and i went to shift into third... wasnt driving hard either just your normal 3000-4000 shift.. i was real hard to get into gear and when it did go in and i let the clutch out... the car felt like it was trying to lung foward real hard and the tires chirpped out... now this usually doesnt happen if im just shifting normal... maybe if i jumped the gas ang dumped the clutch... well anyway after that the only way i could shift was to power shift... and if i was stopped at a light or stop sign i wouldnt go in to first.. or any of the gears for that matter.... if i did manage to get it in first gear, and held the clutch to the floor, it would try and go like and automatic would when you take your foot off the break....almost like i was holding the clutch half way down..

i bled the line a bunch of time and that didnt help.. tryd adjusting the pedal, which helped at least to put it in gear, but not reverse.. i asked a friend at work and he said it could be the slave cylinder... any clues.. maybe the stupid fork thing bent?

Give your car a gasoline bath, and have a lit flare throwing contest with your friends. Make sure the flares are lit. Very important step. Then collect insurance, get a new civic. Ok j/k.

Change the fluid in the tranny, and replace w/ some good quality fluid. I use GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. But I have an LSD tranny. I don't think you need to go that crazy, but get some good fluid. You should start small and hopefully it's nothing big.

 

its a junk yard tranny.... it ran real good but i think the seals on the drive shaft on the passenger side leaks.... i havent checked it lately... (5w-30 ) ill do it now....

i need to light this peice up... i have been tryin to go turbo(just waiting on a wastegate now) in the last month the cat has gone bad... my kenwood died, the inspection is up cuz of the bad cat, now this... stupid car!

like i said i adjusted the pedal and blend the line a bunch of times.. now i can actually put it in gear, even reverse! but when i start out in first or second from a dead stop, even rolling down hill, its feels likes when you get wheel hop.. the car jerks not a whole lot, probably the engine and tranny twisting on the mounts. i think the clutch is good cuz it goes when i hit the gas and will chirp tires 1st through 3rd.. any other suggestions?

my car jerks too, while rolling, and even if i put it on neutral it still jerks, aggressively too!! any thoughts in why it would do that? clutch lining perhaps?
