Default Car runs lean with VAFC hack no matter what.......

I'm running a PLX wideband on my set up. I can't get the car to idle properly no matter what I set the fuel settings at on my VAFC. It idles fine, but the wideband is showing me 17s and 18s. Even if I give the car fuel to the point that it's almost stalling it just goes back to 17s and 18s after i drive it down the block. It didn't do this before I rebuilt the motor, and needless to say I'm really pissed off at it right now. I know the VAFC is working because it does change the settings, but the stock P28 keeps overriding it or something. Is there anything I can do? I have no CELs on.

Bump. I need some help here guys. My car has been out of commission for 2 months and I'm moving 1000 miles in 2 weeks, so I need this thing running properly. I checked my current 02 sensor against a brand new one at the Honda dealer and it was giving the same readouts on my Ohms meter, so I don't know wtf it's doing.

lower the boost, get the injectors cleaned/checked for flow, or just get a real engine management

The motor is brand new with fresh forged internals. I haven't hit boost with it yet, and even if I did, it's only at 4 psi right now

where did you mount the wb o2? you could be overheating it which may be giving you faulty readings...

near the catalytic converter. I figured out that it's the stock o2 sensor that's the problem. I unhooked the sensor entirely,(causing the ecu to go into open loop) and the car runs fine because it's just reading of the VAFC, and it doesn't have crazy readings coming off the o2 sensor.
However, I checked the o2 sensor using all the methods in my Haynes manual, and from what I can tell with my Ohms meter the damn thing is working! WTF? When I have it hooked up, it overrides the VAFC and causes the car to lean out BAD.
So until i figure out wtf is going on with that o2 sensor, i'm just running it with it sensor unhooked. Is there any way this'll harm the motor? It's running really well right now with the o2 sensor taken off.......
