Just checked my oil and it was really low. I had to fill up almost a quart with Mobil1.

How hard do you guys drive your cars? I check my oil every 2 or 3 weeks, and it's always fine. In fact I change my oil and filter every 3,000 miles. How many miles do you guys have on your cars? What kind of setup? All I am saying is that I have never had a problem with my car. Maybe I baby mine too much?

I have a 94 with 108K on it and I used to use synthetic (mobil 1 of course) and she would burn a small amount, like about 1/2 qt. every 2500 miles. Now I switched to dino oil for a little bit and she doesn't burn any oil now.....runs like a top and I DO drive her a bit harder than what I should....I usually change my oil every 2000-2500 miles since I work at a garage and its free anyways..

synthetic oil is more slippery than dino oil, and since your car has so many miles it's probably more prone to leaking with synthetic oil

My neighbor says his 2000 porsche needs a quart of Mobil 1 every month. On the car it even has a sticker that says use only Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil

I usually check my oil every couple of weeks and change at 3-3.5k miles with dino oil. I never had to refill. It is always near the full level. I do drive hard sometimes but now I wonder that everyone else but me always have to top off their oil. My GSR now has 34k miles.

59K miles

96 GS-R

mobil 1 every 6-7K miles. Car is occasionally autoXed but frequents 8.1K often.

burns about half a quart every change. I drive about 300 miles every 3 days. Still get 28 mpg combined driving.
