Probably just the bent valve tapping in its seat. And your rods/crank are fine, even if you dropped a valve they should be ok. Your pistons "may" have a knick or 2 in them from the valves, sometimes you get lucky and theres no damage, sometimes you arent lucky.

if u threw i rod i dnt think it would turn over and start. mine didnt when i did that. ya if u want to be safe just check the combustion chambers and pistons. good luck

my timing belt snaped a couple of months ago while it was running. i put a new timing belt on and i thought a had bent a valve cause it was miss firing and puttering alot. i thought i had the timing on right cause i used all the timing marks to do the timing but it turns out i was off. one of my mechanic buddys fixed the timing now it runs like a champ. now if only i could get to pass emissions.

im also kinda lookin for the d16z6 head...for kinda cheap i think it would just be easier to find a new head kinda low on money too and i really dont wanna get rid of it..the motor was one of those abnormally strong ones. i kept up easily with dohc and my motor was completely stock. if ya know where to get one cheap- i looked on ebay they were around 100 to 150 ill pay around 100 with shipping or can talk about it
i wanna atleast get the car running again thanks for some of the help
