OK, so I get out of work today, go to my car, and when I go to start it up, it clicks, but won't crank...well i asked a woman i work with to try to give me a jump start, we hook up the battery for a while, still nothing, the battery is only a year old, and my headlights, dome light, and radio still work fine...what else could it be, if my car is at least clicking i ASSUME its not the starter, so now its just sitting up in my work parking lot until tomorrow (its a locked fenced in area, so I can't do anything now), any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

 

try to push start... if it's a manual tansmission...

 

no go, its an auto (i just had to wait to start an auto to five speed )

Could be your alternater or a bad distributer?

 

If it's the alternater how do i check it and also, could it be the starter?

 

ur stater might be stuck....try hitting it slowly w\ a hammer ...SLOWLY and SOFTLY DONT BREAK IT!! c if that does it

 

probably a starter, when my dist. went bad, it would crank, it just wouldn't start. it would make sense that your battery is fine if the radio, lights, etc. have power, but the starter probably took a **** if it just clicks.

 

check if you got spark.

 

Where is the location of the starter on a D16y8, and how do you remove it, and does anybody know about how much they run?

 

Yeah, check the spark plugs. Worse, there might be something wrong with fuel distribution.

 

might wanna check the battery posts first to see if the just need to be cleaned before doing any extensive work.
