Knocking/Pinging from what sounds like the top end.
Ummmmmm, yeah, so im sitting at a stop light, and i just lightly feather the gas, bring it up to maybe like 2000, which isnt much considering for some reason it idles at 1500, and i hear this kind of knocking/pinging sound. So i open the hood and play with the throttle and it sounds really really bad. I know most Hondas do this at least a little bit, but this is really loud. It almost sounds like Valves to me. It still runs fine, and goes good, but also has terrible gas mileage. I doubt the gas mileage has anything to do with it but still.
If i put in first with the e-brake on, and slowly let it the clutch out, you can really hear it.
Thanks

BTW- Its D16Z6 in a 90 haTCH

Ok, sorry but i wrote that at 2 am. When i ever so lightly feather the throttle, i get this little kind of knock. Its not incredibly loud. Or if i let the clutch out slowly in first with the e-brake on, to make it work, then you can really hear it. Im really leaning towards valve adjustment, but some people are telling me that i might have a spun bearing. Its not a consistent noise though, only the first little bit of revving from idle. If i push the gas harder, it doesnt do it.
I have a D16Z6 in a 90 hatch. Its got about 130000kms on it, so i dont know how many miles that is.

something like this just happened to my friend. what kinda spark plug wires are you useing. he was using a set from ebay like 10.3 mm or somthing like that. but the noise was the spark hitting the cylinder wall. maybe your plug wire is not pushed down all the way.
Sorry dude, i cant really watch that right now, i am living in prehistoric times and still have phoneline internet.
Im still leaning towards valves as it is not incredibly loud. Its not Like what happens right before the rod bearings let go and send themselves through the pan. lol
