Default ITB-Turbo motor :)

So far I havent seen anyone on here try an Idividual Throttle Bodied Turbo motor...I think I will give it a shot...I have a set of 38 mm ITBs layin around and was thinkin about all this...does anyone know where I can purchase some aluminum pipe that could be welded as runners so I can weld on the ITBs to the pipe? I figure this is gonna be a pretty difficult setup but I will have help with hondata and such...I am gonna have to also make a sheetmetal box on the ITBs so the charged air is captured...if anyone has any experience with this please let me know because I figure I will be in for a few surprises

Don't for the SR20DET from the RNN14(GTIR) also incorporated ITB's and FI.

It can be done pretty easily I guess. You are just up the street from us in Tuscaloosa.

I can't imagine it would be too hard to make a plenum and then it would solve all the vaccum problems with ITB. Only hard part would be to make the flange to match up with the ITB(I'm think of motorcycle ITB and not TWM's) and still make it clear the firewall. It would be cool to see. I have a set of cbr600's just sitting in my garage that I picked up to use for this idea but just never had the time or the resources to complete it.

bolt on plenum.

ITB's and boost would be ridiculous , so I added that to the list of winter projects

Theres a reason the worlds fastest turbo Hondas run Intake manifolds...

Do some research on the RB26DET motor, they come with ITB's from the factory... There are several downsides to ITB's and boost on the RB26, thats the reason you see a large majority of the really fast Skylines running single TB plenums as apposed to ITB's...

but there has to be some pro's for running itb's for FI... if it comes like that from the factory. please explain yourself to educate the rest of us becuase it would be interesting to know why a single tb is better than itbs for boost.

the idivdual throttle plates severely restrict airflow since it's forced induction they only need to have big runers and it will be just as well without 4-6x the throttle plate turbulence
