I don't think this is required but some aftermarket LSD's need to change the speed sensor learned that with Kaaz
but LSD has nothing to do with the gear ratio as far as I know....

That's debatable, since it is a Y1. The LSD itself is worth it but I am not a fan of the Y1 trans for many reasons.

Huge difference depending on what you do with the car. For autocross and circuit track, it is like a night and day difference. For daily driving and drag, the difference is not so noticeable.

It depends on what transmission you have.

Right. The differential does bolt to the ring gear of the final drive, but it has nothing to do with the gear ratios.

ive had alot of engine /tranny combinations, and my final setup would be.
any hydraulic lsd complete motor swap, with a hasport mount kit.
this way you get a newer motor , tranny, electronics, etc

1st gear is very long to me. Also can't change the final gear either.
Either way I'm happy with my Y1.

You cant rebuild a Y1 and 3rd gear syncros go bad very ofter on these trannies.
I have 90-91 LS tranny in my car(4.400 final drive and short gears) with a quaife. You would probably have around 1100 bucks in this setup and it will be way better than the OEM honda clutching LSD which works fine but does wear out, and doesnt repond as well as the Quaife. My car eats exotics and other hondas alike at autocrosses and hold it own on trackdays even with the underpowered but torquey Ls motor.
