Timing is off... Engine starts, but runs really rough what do i do?
Okay according to what I have searched for and read, when my enigine (d16z6) is at TDC (my cam pulley has the word UP and the crank pulley has a white mark lined with the timing cover mark) The distributor rotor should be at the #1 cylinder fire right? well its 180* off and I cant figure out how to get it on the other side. I have the service connector jumped, but now how do i change it. I tried to put the distributor on 180* around, but it wouldnt fit in all the way. So am I not pushing hard enough or do I do something else. The distributor is a brand new just got it today Distributor King td-42u dizzy.
Also it runs very rough... idles low and takes a while to get through the power band... what is wrong here...
And is it normal for the cap and rotor off of the dizzy to make a screaching noise when it is first used? Like wearing in or something, or is my timing just messed up?

Come on someone on here must know how this works... I really really want to be able to drive this car that has been sitting in my garage for the last two months... you all should know how it feels....
Also... I am getting 3 codes... 4 Crank Position Sensor.... 9 Cylinder Position Sensor... and 6 Water Temp Sensor...
For 4 and 9 I know it's cause the timing is fubar. Need your guy's help to fix that one. And for the temp sensor... I am trying to figure out how to wire that one up. Any Ideas... I was using the d15b2 block coolant probe off the back of the engine... I guess you cant do that huh? so what should I do for that.

can't be 180 degrees off - the distributor will only go in one way - do you have spark plug wires in correctly in the distributor cap - Code 6 - Coolant Temp Sensor - the sensor is located on the end of the head, just below the distributor and has a 2 wire connector - there is another one right next to it with 1 wire connector, which is for temp gauge - the one on the back of the block on the D15B2 is the cooling fan switch - it is located on the thermostat housing on the Z6
k try this. when crank pulley is up at tdc and cam gear is at up mark. Turn 180 on crank and the can gear will be 90 turn another 180 and cam gear up should be down anothe 180 and gear should be pointing to the side. Another 180 and back up again. If the cam gear is one tooth off. Rotate the cam gear till its in up position and then loosen tensioner on timing belt and slide belt off. Move cam gear a tooth and slide belt back on. Problem solved. Thats what I did atleast.

hey, try leaving the distributor on... then turning the rotor around 180, then when it runs send me 10 bucks and a pack of wrigleys gum
that'll clear up all the codes but the water temp sensor... check the plug first, it prolly came unplugged while you fucked with the distributor as to it is located right below the dizzy on the head.. for this only 2 dollar bill and hug

Okay I figured out the wiring was wrong for the distributor because i am using a conversion harness I have to follow there instructions for the wiring not the mpfi swap instructions. Anyway got the timing stuff straight... now just cant get rid of the code 9 and code 6... How can I make this thing run right? I have tried everything.
