Db2 Problems
After getting the weird distributor problems fixed. I'm having timing issues right now on my b17a1 we checked the mechanical timing and its dead on but when trying to set the distributor timing it has to be pushed all the way back and still is barely far enough to get it to start. We checked firing order and tdc everything is set correctly as far as I know. I really don't want to have to notch the distributor just to make this thing run. Could there be any sensors that could cause this kind of problem inside the distributor that is. And this is boosted and tuned on neptune.
If you are POSITIVE the cam timing is on (crank shaft pulley mark aligned with arrow on oil pump OR crank damper pulley white mark aligned with mark on timing cover AND both cam gears have "up" arrows pointing up with the pulley marks at the 3 and 9 o'clock aligned with the top of the head) then you have the wrong distributor.
Is it aftermarket? If so get rid of it and get an OEM one. I know, they're not cheap but it's worth it.
And yes once you have the correct set up, the service connector needs to be jumped to adjust the timing, but regardless, the distributor should not be at the end of its travel.

Yeah the timing belt is dead on. I may be completely wrong but will an LS distributor work on the b17a1 I hear if you shaved the leg closest to the VTEC solonoid that it would work normally. If not what distributor will I need for this thing to run properly? A b17a1 specific?
