Well we were working on a friends car the other day and decided to clean up the car after we were done. We started by cleaning the engine bay by using engine degreser and spraying the bay with a water hose. I've used this on many other cars and have had no problem.
The car is a 99' Coupe. Well later on when we were taking it out it had issues getting over 3k rpm. We didn't work on the engine bay so no clue. The car starts and runs just won't go over the 3k mark.
I'm guessing that maybe some water got into the distributor. Is that a possiblity?

Sorry if its a newbie question, I'm a Nissan guy asking this for a friend.

 

open the hood and let the car sit and dry out. always cover the dizzy when washing the engine bay...some electrical something somewhere got wet.
