Default help!! snow in the whole engine bay what should i use to clean it out!

as the topic says we got about 23 inches of snow out here in nyc i dunno how but it wasso windy that snow burried the engine bay in my car i popped my hood open to find a new engine..snow...=P its all over from the floor piled to the top ..what should i use to try to clean it out?! .. cant move it and its outdoors so heaters are out of the question and using a brush didnt exactly help get rid of the snow either theres just too much just scared its gonna ice up .... i guessing hot water and deicer fluid?.....any suggestions would be great thanks!

I think he's trying to say that it was so windy it blew the snow in through the grille. I would use hot water or maybe just warm water. For some reason when I think of pouring hot water over an engine block that has been encased in snow for hours, I get this feeling that the block/head would warp. I think tepid water would be your best bet.

The initial heating up of the block/head wouldn't warp it, but the cooling down after might if it was too fast.

Im from miami so i dont have to deal with snow but if its snow like powder i would get a blower and blow it all out, but if its frozen i would just start the engine and let the engine heat melt the ice , but only if its not frozen over the intake!!!!!

its possible- i was drivin my winterbeater around in the storm on sat and it started steamin out the hood- so i checked and snow was piled up to the airbox, battery and covered the alternator, so it is possible. as to gettin the snow out- try a small brush or maybe the back end of a broom and carefully poke some snow out the gaps in the engine, then brush it away from the pulleys and **** and start it up, the heat of an idleing engine will melt and dry the rest.

Scoop out under the car and then use your hands to remove as much as you can from under the hood. Be careful about knocking/pulling wires off. Then try starting it up and drive around for an hour. You'll come back clean & dry.
