HELP!! Clutch pedal rough after driving 20min!!
I have a weird problem. When my car is cold (morning or after been sitting a few hours) the clutch pedal is perfect, nice and smooth. But after I've been driving about 20 minutes, the clutch pedal starts to get really rough. The pedal no longer feels like butter rather it feels like it's sticking and makes a terrible rubbing noise. It's not the cable because I changed it, also if you lift the clutch lever at the transmission yourself you can feel the roughness. My question is, what could be causing this??? Back clutch pressure plate?? Bad release bearing?? The clutch is brand new, it's an Exedy I bought off Ebay, maybe it was a bad batch which is why I bought it so cheap???? Any help would be appreciated!!
You said it's fine when you actuate it by hand?
But, when you get in the car and press the pedal it's rough?
Is it the same with the car parked, off, and just pressing the pedal?
If you can do it easily by hand then it doubt it's anything with the clutch. It sounds like the cable or maybe your pedal assembly.

It may be the clutch fork shaft. Most people forget to lube it up when they replace the clutch. Its a littel trouble as the fork must be unbolted from the shaft (easy part) cleaned then lubed then replaced (tough part).

If I pull the fork by hand, you can feel the roughness. When I did the clutch, I actually did lube the fork shaft. I'm thinking I have either a bad release bearing or clutch pressure plate.

Aahh... I see. I read it wrong the first time.
Either the fork, throw out bearing, or pressure plate.
Any of those parts, but the tranny has to come off.
