correct diagnosis for a/c problem
to start its an Integra gsr turbo, w/ civic radiator and FAL fan. The FAL is fully occupied with the civic radiator so I mounted a 10" slim line puller fan to the exposed condensor which has always been in adequate. I have a large intercooler covering the front air dam which is the root of all problems.
After driving a half hour with a/c on I started to smell a sweet smell unlike radiator fluid, more like refrigerant. I thought the compressor was purging due to high psi levels or i had a leak. AFter few days of this, the a/c no longer got cold. I went to add a can of freon and the car would not suck it up. At this time I noticed the condensor fan was not working which may account for the high psi levels and purging. Im going to add a dual shrouded 8" fans to the front of the condensor which will act as pushers. I think that will cool condensor better. Then add more freon. Does this sound like what happened and sound like the right diagnosis?

your A/C will still blow cold with or without your condensor fan, (just not as cold as with)
Sounds like you have a Freon leak somewhere, but you may want to check the compressor to see if it is doing its job.
BTW you can easily see if you have broken A/C lines to see if they are "wet" with oil, your A/C system has PEG oil in it, if you have a break, it will spray some of that oil in the area of the leak, I would look for leaks, and confirm that the Compressor is working.
But your description is kind of vague, it could still be any number of things in your system, Condensor, Evaporator, etc..... if you can't find any leaks, you might want to have a A/C specialist look at it.

Im going to take it to an a/c specialist. I think the compressor is dead from high psi levels after the condensor fan stopped. That would explain why it wont accept the freon now.
