I have been using the Miller syncrowave 180 SD for about two years now. It has handled pretty much everything that I have needed it for fabrication/automotive wise. I have done 1/8" stainless for turbo headers, aluminum intercooler piping, aluminum intercooler end tanks, etc. The machine works flawlessly. I have used the advanced Milller Tig machines like the 250 SD and the 350 SD, they are only good for the higher amperage rating, and the waveform advanced control with ac.

I have the 180 unit also. great welder, all it lacks is the water cooler.
the new lincoln 185 is a great welder also for about the same price. it is upgradable for the water cooler. has 5 more amps. and has a pulse option.
i would check out the lincoln and do some comparison.

If you are thinking about the Lincoln PT185 unit you might also want to check out the Thermal Arc 185TSW which is on par with the Miller Dynasty 200, but costs less. I have the TA185 and love i so far. A few other users on the fab-forum also use the TA185 and love it.

I compared both of the units talking with my local dealer. he carries the 180 and the Lincoln pt185 and said the pt185 was a superior machine to the 180. He had both in stock and on display so I see no reason for him to lie. SO I purchased the pt185 and it came on a cart too.
