Default what is this gray plug? please help!

ok i have a gray plug located just behind my intake manifold that has 2 wires on it:
-one wire is red (no volt detected)
-and the other one is yellow with black stripe (tested 12.58v)

the plug would click into the "knock sensor" housing perfectly, but i know it isn't for the knock sensor because knock sensors have ONLY 1 wire to it.

any ideas?

Sounds like the Intake Air Temp sensor or the Idle air control valve to me

After rechecking my vast pdf file database of honda's 4+ gigs the Air intake valve has a yellow/blk wire with 12v on it so

This is for an EG with stock engine and wiring?

If so, this is most likely for the purge cut-off/control solenoid valve. The connector for this solenoid valve has a red wire and a yellow/black wire in a two prong connector.

On most D/B series motors, this valve mounts on the back of the intake manifold, to the driver side of the vacuum fitting for the brake booster.

Yellow/black is +12V switched by the main relay and red is controlled by ECU. You should measure positive voltage from the yellow/black to the red wire while the engine is warmed up and idling, but there will not necessary be voltage from the red wire to ground.

Here is the schematic (solenoid is circled)

Here is where it comes out of the harness (117 - circled)

Hopefully that helps you out........
Mike

the gray plug came out of the wire harness and the harness is not the original harness on my 93 civic ex 4dr. it was an obd1 harness i bought from "2litreLsVtec" and guaranteed to work.

about the codes, i'm only getting code 23 (knock sensor), even after resetting ecu. that gray plug is a mystery....

I just checked the wiring diagram for the Integra as well... and the only plug under the hood I see with those two wires colors is again the purge cut-off solenoid valve. So whether this harness is an OBD-I civic or teg harness, that connector you describe should go to this solenoid valve.

Did you check that yet? It's usually on the back of the manifold, to the driver side of the vacuum connection to the brake booster. If something is already connected to the solenoid valve, check the wire color(s)... maybe the wrong connector is there now (like the knock sensor connector, etc).

if the purge cut-off solenoid valve is not plugged in with the right wires, would it throw a code? i'm not getting any other code than the code 23 "knock sensor".

Not sure... but I don't think so. And I don't see an ECU code for it or any of the related parts of the evap emissions system....
