Default my eg is running slow?

hey guys i have an eg with a 99 gsr swap(skunk cam gears, skunk intake manifold,dc header, cai, cat back, fpr) you know all of the usual bolt ons. and my car still cant take my friends type r (intake and exhaust). so last night i decided to buy some jdm itr cams. took my head apart and saw that i was allready running itr cams. i am so pissed. does anyone else have a similar setup, and what bolt ons or parts should i be looking for? how are your cars running?

put it on a dyno and have some tuning done. Also check your timing

It shouldn't take his type r. Unless it's a stock usdm teg type r. Even then he should still take you. Even with the bolt ons. I have a JDM Type R in my gutted ek. I rip on wrx's, usdm type r's, i run with 350z's. So I dont think your eg gsr should beat your friends Type r. Get some pistons, tune it and see what happens. Should be close.

Maybe i'm wrong...but i would be pissed if a gsr with bolt ons beat my type r.

his type r is a 2000 usdm. comptech exhaust and intake. but shouldnt weight to horse power come into play here im sure he has more horse but how much do those weigh? my eg is 2235lbs with the motor. or is the r just really that fast?

That is true...i guess it should be closer then cuz my ek rips usdm type r's by like 2 car lengths. And mine is light like yours. So yours should actually come really close. Is yours gutted?

Maybe the gear ratios are longer in the GS-R than the Type R?

I'm prolly wrong, but who knows

i have never had my car on the dyno thus i have never had it tuned. what exactly will they tune. i know they can set my cam gears, but what else would they do? it could be trannys the itr does have a better final drive and an lsd.

i also had another question, this one being with ecus. my eg is running an obd2 p72 gsr ecu. ya i know why is it obd2. it has an obd1 to obd2 harness. so i am looking to go obd1 with a chip. here is the deal if i get a p30 will it run good due to the difference in displacement? what i if i chip it will it matter then?

What a moron statement..Really.

Just because you "rip" on WRX, 350z or w/e, doesn't mean you can "rip" the whole world. An EG hatch is lighter than a stock USDM R integra. #'s are almost the same. 1.8L, 81 bore, 87 stroke, except R has A BIT higher compression. Forgot your power to weight facts too .

Cliffnotes: TyPe R 1sNt +70 hP Y0o!!!!!!!

the integra r is fast, but you should put some work on him with your motor setup. the fastest type r i have seen at the track in person was like a 15 something. You should be running 14 all day. so something is clearly wrong....get it tuned

**** YOU. I didn't say I could rip the world. He asked how other cars were running so I told him. I was giving an example of a Type R in a hatch. And then the wieght to power thing, I said "that's true". Can you read? Dumbass

holy **** this thread is just getting good with all the name calling.

but yeah, i have a 96 gsr in my eg hatch and run around 14.7 with just intake and exhuast. plus my collector doesnt match up with the cat so its leaking air like crazy. u should try running at the track and then if ur time is not around the 14's area, then u should definitenly tune it.

That is funny, you got me good bro. I don't like when people call me a moron. That's why I get heated. I was just trying to help him out and I hate it when people post like you did. Funny reply though bro, i'll use that one later...

I never called you a moron, i said it was a moron post. Flaming/name-calling on me because i said your post is moronic. Sensitive aren't we???

Well like i said. Problem discovered.

As for that hatch: You should have the Hype R behind you. My advice, chip ECU, get a Hondata, go for some tunning, check your timing while you're on it(cam gears off maybe?). Kill 2 birds with one stone
