goin ls finally at the end of the month i was told that a really good set up would be a 94 and up ls motor with a 90-93 ls tranny because of the cable clutch, and an obd1 ecu is that true? Can i add V-tec later?

wholy **** are you seriouse? now that we have enough posts to make the guy sure that hew wrong. lets give him answers. yes that setup will work yes you can ad VTEC later and im not sure about what was said about the B16 tranny. id look into it though
<----LS with cable b17 tranny I pull on b16 rex's and hatch's all day long from roll's and stop's if I can keep spinning to a minimum.

With a b16 tranny the motor will love it for acceleration, but on the highway your going to be doing 80 at about 5,000rpm. A nice setup is a b16 tranny with a LS 5th gear or final drive, im not too sure.

WHAT!?!?!? The YS1 from a 93 GSR is the best cable tranny available, period.
Y1's are better than J1s IMO. J1's weren't even commercially available w/ an LSD. At least some Y1's have it as an option. Mine does. I'm saving for a super YS1 fully built w/ a quaife style LSD in it. Sickest tranny ever.
