There is not a difference between you side skirts and the ones off of the 96-98.

Agreed, as long as they are properly prepped, there should be no problem and they will look good.

youll need to hit it up with a scuff pad or sandpaper or else the paint wont stick.

I painted my sides and aside from rock chips they are fine. I washed them, sanded them with a fine grit (so no grooves in the soft plastic), primered, sanded, primered alil more and painted.

Done deal, look good.

The plastic can be painted, but the thing you have to be careful of is the fact that the vinyl is textured (if the 98's are the same as my 00 black ones). If not done correctly, you will see the texture of the plastic through the paint, so it won't be smooth.

Also, the texture may make it look like the color doesn't match exactly since the light will reflect off of it differently than the smooth ones. A professional should be able to do it up for you though, but for that price, you may just want to look into replacing them with OEM that come painted from Honda.

i would spring for the OEM painted ones. if you get the black ones professionally painted, it could easily cost you $100, and the paint has a high chance of chipping off over time. better yet, rock black side skirts its jayd33m y0!

i swear i've seen this question asked at least 5-6 times. there is no difference in the sideskirts. whomever you have paint them, make sure they prep them properly so the paint will stick.

2nd that...I have had mine painted taffeta white...looks the same if they came from the factory....no need to ask for pictures - case closed - lock this bitch up

EDIT: next time SEARCH!!!!!! "sideskirts" limit to eg+ /del sol forum & click on archive topics....then read any thread that has the word painted, paint, or painting...F'n people (n00bs especially) need to know how to search NOTE - you will get different results when you search "sideskirt" compared to "sideskirts" as well

using the word "painted" will limit you from topics with the word "paint" & "painting" in the title
using the word "sideskirts" will limit you from topics with "sideskirt" in the title

and of course if you use paint/painting/painted in the title you will probably miss the topic that tells you that 96-98 sideskirts are the same as 99-00...I am try to help you & this forum by keeping the number of repetitive post to a minimum....when you are here for 3+ years seeing the same topics OVER & OVER can be annoying & a waste of valuable space thanks
