I got a b16 tranny on a gsr engine in a 93 cx hatch,the othe rnight i lost reverse and 5th gear in my tranny and it was leaking from the drivers side of teh tranny. what could be causing this oil leak? It cant be the rear main seal because the motor isnt loosing any oil. This is a pretty major oil leak, it pisses oil out and cannot be drove the way it is. it appears to be coming out of where the intermediate shaft goes into the tranny on the drivers side. ANybody have any advice? Could it be the drivers side axle seal? im just confused because i know its tranny fluid.

you can try checking the tranny seal where the shaft goes in for wear. im sure thats your problem.

 

i just went out and checked it again. on the intermediate shaft where it goes into the tranny, there is a metal piece there flares out and goes around the actual "shaft" that goes into the tranny, this metal flare also goes over the axles seal, this metal flare appears to be all bent up, and when i turn the axle and it gets to a bent point it leaks oil out of there. this metal flare doesnt look replaceable, i tried bending the flare but it doesnt work. could it still be the axle seal itself? or do i need to replace that metal flare or the entire I- shaft?
