Default Radio from 5th gen. to 6th gen.

Basically, my question is whether or not a radio wire adapter from my old 95 civic will work on my 98 Civic. I want to put my Pioneer CD player from my EG into my EJ. I posted this in the Audio/Security forum with no response. Help guys!!!

shouldnt it work if you just match up the wires? like power goes to power, and speaker go to speaker wires?

your wiring harness will not work. due to the adition of keyless entry there is a extra plug in the back of a 6th gen's stock radio compared to the one large pluged harness in a 5th gen civic. you will need to get a wireing harness that will jump your dome light wireing so your dome light will work when you open your doors.

i had this same problem after i put my radio in. all you need to do to fix the dome light is get a paperclip and connect the GREEN/BLACK wire to the GREEN/RED wire in the green alarm plug behind the radio. this may be a rig, but it works

Just get the wiring harness for the 6th gen civic. You may have a problem if you have keyless but who needs it anyway.

My harness were the same from a 93 civic to a 99 Si. No keyless entry though.
