apex ws exhaust, carsound cat 2.5 in., jdm 4-1 headers all on an '01 GSR
Will this fit? I plan on getting these used off of a '98 GSR, and i just wanted to make sure ahead of time that this combo will fit on my car. the apex ws exhaust isn't off the '98 GSR. I plan on buying that brand new. But the rest is used. For the apex ws exhaust, its only made for '94-'99 gsr's. Can anyone confirm that that exhaust will fit?
Also, has anyone had experience ordering from rollhard.com? They have an awesome price on the ws exhaust, only 350 + shipping.

The 94-99 GS-R exhaust won't fit. I don't have personal experience, but a lot of people on the board say a 94-01 non-GSR exhaust (i.e., RS/LS/GS/Type R) will fit.

the stock cats for the 2001 gsrs are a bit longer..also i heard that theres another sensor on the header..but getting them all on w/o a CEL is a different story..
yah, i'm aware that the '01 cats are longer. But the 2.5 inch carsound cat i am going to purchase is off one that fits a '98 GSR. Does this change the story at all?
why dont you measure the carsound cat against his stock 98 cat? if its the same length then you can get the ws catback for a 94-99 gsr.

Find out if the carsound cat is a 94006 or 54006. If it's a 94006 then get a RS/GS/LS/Type-R exhaust, if it's a 54006 get a 94-99 GS-R exhaust.

I went through this whole issue personally - it took about 3 months to get the right b-pipe for my car - the JDM header will bolt right up (same length as a '00-'01 GSR header) you could get everything to fit it you get your cat made a custom length - the mid pipe for a '94-99 teg is about 2-4 inches longer than the ones on a '00-01 teg. Kingmotorsports originally sent me a mid pipe for a 94-99 teg and I saw it lined up underneath my car - it was too long on the end that attaches to the cat. I am positive the hangers on the mid pipe will line up correctly to the mounting points on the car. IM me if I can help you further
If it is all (header, cat and exhaust) from a 98, I would think it would fit. Remember, you are still covering the same total distance as any other year, just putting the flanges in different locations...

Jason: He's only getting the header and cat from the 98.. he wants to buy the catback seperatly..
ok, if you buy the header and carsound cat used from the GSR....and its a 94-99 and the cat and header fit on his car without him needing to modify his exhaust, then YOU should be able to purchase a 94-99GSR exhaust and put it on your car and it all should fit correctly.

yeah the '98 gsr i'm getting the headers/cat from has an apex n1 exhaust designed for the 94-99 GSR.
thanks for the help guys. It is most appreciated
. Do you guys think i should get a new exhaust anyways though? I've seen some pretty good numbers with just the header and the intake. Well just one car. I'm not sure who's car it was on this board, but he posted 161.xx. Is the stock exhaust that crappy? Aftermarket ones seem to add almost nothing to peak power, but lose quite some in the low end?
