im thinking about picking up a vtec head but i dont have a block to put it on. how can i store this head without it warping or anythign bad happening to it ?

Shrink wrap it(clear packing wrap)put it on a shelve,that's how we do it.

 

When i bought my Vtec head(sold now) i stored it for like 2 months before putting it on.. I sprayed wd-40 on it, on the Rocker arms,cams etc... to make sure it kept lubricated and rust free..Then i Wraped it on a Plastic trash bag to keep it away from humidity..I put it on a flat surface.
