Does anyone else have an Icebox that rubs?
I installed my Icebox yesterday and after the install was done I noticed that there were 2 lines that ran under my Airbox. They are side by side and covered in a black foam covering. But there are metal things that look like nuts that aren't covered. Well the one to the left put a few scratches on the intake from the install and it is ftouching the tube. Does anyone else have this problem? How could I fix it? Is there anywhere else on the intake that I should look for rubbing?
Also at what position did you put the bottom peice? Mine is paralell to the ground but should I tilt it up or down or leve it to help keep water out? Thanks

yah those are the ac lines. Mine was rubbing the tubing too. I unbolted the bracket that holds those lines firm, ziptied a rubber hose around that nut, and taped up the plastic tubing in that area, kinda overkill but I think its doing ok. The only other position that might rub is around the tranny mount, but if you used that bracket they provide to clamp the lower piece it should be ok.
I put the snorkel facing just a little bit upwards

Mines rub too. What I did was place a piece of silicon, you can use something else, between the nut and the side of the tube. Its being about 6 months now and nothing bad happened.
I didn't notice anything rubbing last time I checked. I'll go look again and see if I'm having that same problem. Thanks for posting about it.
Mine does not rub the lines. It actually rubs the coolant overflow bottle. Maybe Comptech re-drilled the holes to move it forward.
I put the snorkle facing slightly up.
Did anyone else skip the metal intake tube and just use the stock tube? mine is a little short (by about 1/2") It works fine but the rubber intake is stretched a little.
I used the stock tube and it fits perfect. I removed the coolant overflow bottle durring the install to make it easier but when I put it back it doesn't rub at all.
I did one other thing today. It had been raining and I removed my clear corner and noticed that there was some water dropplets on the snorkle. My clear corners were a little loose b/c they don't fit just right so I used some foam weather stripping to seal it a little better because I don't like the idea of water spraying past my corners right into the snorkle. Maybe a little overkill but now I feel better
