JRSC ITR - Getting a new exhaust... Thermal, T1R, DC JDM 4-1?
The time is here....
the time for a new exhaust system
I currently have an R with a JRSC, soon to be 8lbs of boost.
I have 3 main questions:
1) How do the Thermal 2.5 inch cat backs sound and look? Everyone speaks of the 3 inch, but no 2.5 inch write ups... I want a nice deep good performing exhaust that looks nice on the car and works well with the JRSC, but not ridiculously loud either...
2) Where can I get the BEST price on the full T1R cat back exhaust? And how long will I have to wait to have it at my door?
3) where can I get the BEST price on the JDM DC 4-1 stainless header?
Currently I'm leaning towards getting the JDM DC 4-1 SS with a 2.5 cat of some sort and the T1R full catback.
The Thermal 2.5 inch is HALF the price of the T1R....at least so it seems so far, unless someone has a T1R hook up... not really sure if it is worth getting the T1R over the Thermal though...
Let me know what you think, pics, clips, whatever you got. When I searched, I got pics of the header and T1R exhaust, but any other clips, like sound clips and **** would be nice.

I've heard the Thermal Classic 2.5" on a H22 motor and it doesn't sound horrible. Pretty deep note, but if you're looking for a quiet exhaust, don't get the Classic. You can check out the Stealth exhaust they offer for that. Not sure of the restriction differences though.
A&J Racing sells the T1R. Give them a call.
Garage Five has given me some wicked deals on chit. Try them for the DC Header.

On my jrsc itr, I have the kami header, 3" cat and 3" thermal. To my knowledge, Thermal only sells a 2.25" and 3", not a 2.5". My exhaust is LOUD, usually the loudest car on the track. I wear earplugs on the highway. Aside from the noise, it makes good power. At 8psi you would do well with a 3" exhaust.
i will attest to that statement. been both inside and outside that car, and it's just bout the loudest thing i've ever heard.

For that kind of noise it should be making a good amount of power

It's my secret weapon. When passing another car on track, my exhaust is so painfully loud it temporarily stuns and disorientates the other driver and makes it easier to pull off the pass. After the session, I can tell who I've passed just by looking for the tell-tale trickle of blood coming from their ears.
The thermal used to be bearable, but over time the muffler lost its packing. This is a common problem with thermals.

i would get thermal instead of t1r cuz, t1r is for na than fi.
also i'm selling my jdm dc 4-1 cheap. it has small dent. but it's dirty...... so ppl think it's f*cked up header, but if you see it in-person it's not that bad. reason that's it's dirty is i have been touching the header w/ my oilly hand & had some leaky oil from oil pan.

yup, makes the most power with the jrsc. if you can get over the build quality, buy it.

yea i think teh kamikaze and thermal together was the best best setup for a jrsc my friend had that.. then he parted out.
I would stick with the Kami as well...I had great results with my JRSC setup with it. Some people complain about poor fitment or blowing gaskets or whatever, I wouldnt sweat it. Make sure you torque the nuts connecting the 2 pieces properly, use the included copper gasket and you should be fine.
As for the Thermal...its going to be LOUD on a JRSC setup, as described. I dont think I would do it on a daily driver, although you could always throw in a resonator. I still think it would be too loud though.
