weird engine oil problem when auto crossing
I have turbo b16a which I justed started to auto x. When I make hard s turns, I believe engine oil is getting into the cylinder resulting in alot of oil smoke coming from exhaust. If I run it for a couple of minutes in a straight line this stops. Is there a after market windage tray that you can put in the oil pan to prevent oil sloshing. Has anyone else had this problem?
I can't imagine that you are turning so severely that oil is actually getting into your cylinder from the bottom. That's just my thought.
Anyways...yes, you can get baffled oil pans, or you can send yours out and have it done or do it yourself if you're crafty.
Maybe oil is getting past the seals in your turbo and allowing it to be forced into the combustion chamber?

I think I had the same problem at a recent autocross, with TONS of smoke, but when asking bystanders, the color ranged from blue, to white, to dark grey, so I really don't know how the smoke looked like. Then I got suggestions ranging from overfilling the oil, bad gas, bad piston rings, and moisture buildup in the exhaust system. I have yet to duplicate the problem...

Thanks, but if oil was getting by the turbo than we I boost hard and let off wouldn't it pull the oil through every time? It only smoke when I turn whether I an on the gas or not? Maybe I have a little too much oil? It was so bad at the last event it fouled a plug.
It could just be that you filled the oil up a little too much and it's flowing though your breather or PCV into your IM and combusting that way and not past your piston rings.

I have seen this before
check your intake manifold for oil

more than likely its your piston rings or maybe the oil is getting through the valve seals down the guides & into the combustion chamber when your intake valves open. how many miles are on your engine, valve seal failure is usually caused by lots of high reving witch also wears out your guides
