right hand threaded. (turn clockwise to tighten). the motor spins counter clockwise so if you have to turn the motor by hand, always re-torque the crank pulley bolt to 130lb/ft. if you are installing a new crank pulley bolt and/or new crank, tighten to 145lb/ft, loosen then re-torque to 130lb/ft.
