Idle too high...
Okay, my car is really idling high, its idling at 2000 rpms. i dunno why its doing that, i tried adjusting the idel screw and still the same, and i tried adjusting the throttle cable too and it still stays the same....help mee....
First thing, pull of your intake tube and visually check that your throttle plate is closeing all the way. If it is, and your not throwing any codes, its probably the fast idle thermo valve (think thats the name). also, did it happen all of a sudden?
yeah i was thinking its a vaccumm leak tooo, imma try tightening all the bolts again tommrow, and make sure all the hoses are on tight. And would starting a cold engine have anything to do with it? because its been two days since i started the car with the new throttlebody.

The thermo valve is the part directly connected to the bottom of your throttle body, that has the cooland lines going into it. you can try swapping the one from your other TB, if all else fails.

yeah i tried adjusting the idel screw already. Thanks for the other suggestions guys. ill look into it tommrow. Oh, one more thing, When the car revs to like 3000, it back fires and when the revs drops, it sounds like the engine is going to die at first but then just stays on idling really high.
I think that might be a normal condition for a confused ecu (backfire)...
when the car is cold.. ecu controls idle, except ecu cannot see a vacuum leak creating a high idle situation..
you hear of people saying that their idles fluctuates when the car is warm.. this is due to the ecu giving the motor control of the idle, except the motor cannot accomplish this due to various reasons/problems unknown to the ecu, the ecu will try to compensate for the problem "hunting" for the proper idle causing a fluctuation...
now you say your idle is high when cold???, thats when the ecu controls idle..
check vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner around intake hoses and gaskets while the car is running and see if the idle goes even higher...this would be a sure sign of a vacuum leak..
Check coolant level..
Check coolant temp sensor and intake air temp sensors for proper values...

Thanks for all the help guys, i got the car fixed now, along with the other codes the ecu was throwing tooo. YES! it was the wiring to the ecu that was causing it to go badd...Thanks again guys. Peace.
