Default Problems with gs-r.. help!

hey guys i have sum problems...

1.so i was driving tonite and all of the sudden i feel a jerk and my abs light goes on. however, it stays on for about 3-5 seconds and then turns off and it seems to run normal. i disregaurded it and just kept driving. later, i noticed a strange sound when i brake sort of hard. its kind of like a sqeaky sound. any ideas what it could be? need new break pads possibly?

2. a couple of days ago my clutch makes a sqeaking sound every time i push it in. i think i need to oil it but its pretty loud.. i can hear it from outside when i told my friend to push it in. do i just need to oil it or is it a bigger problem?

3. do any of you 2000 gs-r owners ever have a problem in which your trunk latch doesnt open and you need the key to open it everytime? i think maybe an electronic piece broke because there is no cable. any ideas?

that's about it for now and hopefully there will be no more to come.

Please help me you guys!!!

TIA!!!

How many miles is on the car? did u ever change yur brakes? do u race time to time and have to brake hard? all of those can make the brake waer out fast. if u have a gsr then u have gsr rims , tat means u can look at the brakes and see if u need to change them. if the brake pad is worn down to like a in then GO CHANGE then HURRY H*URRRRRRRRYYYYY lol. i had the dame problem on my teg, when i went to go change the pads they said i needed a new rotor and i was like ****!, but then i i said **** it and got the Brembo brake set hehe. yur cluch makes tat sound bc yes u need to change the fluid or yur clutch just needs to be changed but i doubt it, unless u double clutch and grannie shift. J/K and for the trunk latch, i think its just all yrs tat started the trunk thing brake sooner or later, who cares.

This will help you with the ABS light. What is the trouble code. There is a main code, followed by a subcode. Give me those numbers and I can give you an answer. 1st unplug the service check connector from the conector cover which is located on the passenger side of the center console. Then bridge two terminals of the service check connector with a jumper wire. Then turn the ignition to on but don't start it the ABS computer will then show you a beeping on on the indicator light. Main codes have a 1 second pause and sub codes have a 5 second pause. The ABS will only give you 3 codes at a time. So hopefully you won't have more than three things wrong with the system. Anyway hopefully this helps you, and if you need further assistance pm me and I can help you, or check your repair manual. Your brakes are squeling because your pads have had it, time to put new pads in, my car made the same noise before I did my brake change. I changed to Endless Vita Nuova pads and Endless Basic rotors. They work really well, you don't need to spend the extra money for the Endless stuff, you can get Brembo blanks and whatever pad will suit your driving. AS for your trunk, I have a 96 GS-R and I have friends with Integras and they don't have any trunk problem, unless your talking about the crappy antenna motors. Hopefully this is somewhat useful. Good luck with fixing the car.

Here might be the solution to your clutch issue. The clutch chattering you speak of is caused mainly by oil on the clutch plate lining, or burned/glazed facings. Worn or loose motor/tranny mounts. Worn splines on clutch plate. Warped pressure plate or flywheel. Burned or smeered flywheel/pressure plate. Your release lever could be loose too. Finally the clutch plate damper spring could have failed.

Please reread my posts, I explained in pretty good detail how to locate and decipher the codes. I suggest you get yourself a repair manual. Helms is highly reccomended, but you can still get some use out of a Haynes or a Chilton.
